Crestwood, Ill. – May 27, 2021 – The Crestwood Panthers announced the addition of four pitchers to the 2021 roster on Friday. The team now features a total of 25 players ahead of their season opener against the Joliet Generals on Sunday, May 31.

Nathan Boyer, LHP, Purdue University Northwest / Oak Park, Ill. / Oak Park-River Forest HS

Boyer joins the Panthers after earning an increased workload at Purdue Northwest. This past spring, he recorded 13 2/3 innings pitched while adding seven strikeouts and one save. Boyer also posted a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage on the mound. He joins Justin Johnson as Crestwood’s only southpaws, and will look to play an active role in the starting rotation and bullpen.

Richie Lacien, RHP, Lawrence University / New Lenox, Ill. / Lincoln-Way Central HS

Lacien, the recent Lawrence University commit, comes to the Panthers on the heels of a high school conference championship. He has assisted the Knights in playing undefeated conference baseball, and continues to be a valuable asset entering the IHSA playoffs. Lacien will provide Crestwood with important pitching depth in 2021.

Peyton Olejnik, RHP, Triton College / Cedar Lake, Ind. / Hanover Central HS

A recent commit to Triton College, Olejnik’s 6-foot-8 frame provides him with a fastball velocity that sits in the upper-80s. He participated in PBR’s Top Prospect Games, an invite-only event, and sports an impressive four-pitch repertoire that includes a splitter. He is a welcome addition to the Panthers, and will make an immediate impact in the starting rotation.

Justin Schassburger, RHP, Anderson University / Dyer, Ind. / Andrean HS

The Andrean High School product looks to make a name for himself this summer, experiencing his first-ever taste of collegiate baseball with the Panthers. He recently committed to Anderson University. Schassburger is widely known for his 3/4 arm angle, and stands to use it to stymy hitters in the MCL.
